Troop 29 Eagle Scout Projects

Ben Quinn
Rocklin Community Center, 5484 5th Street,
I developed a trail behind the Community Center and set up a beginning sign "The Stu Hardy Trail - Johnson Springview Park". The trail is 1 1/4 mi. long and has eight markers with 4x4 posts that provide distance and directions. The trail will provide a marked trail to help people with their exercise by striving for longer workouts. Total people involved = 20, total hours = 134.

This is one of the three tables that we constructed. Two days of supervising 23 people and a total of 242 man hours were needed to plan and finish the project. This also included preparation of the site by leveling the ground, pulling weeds and berry brambles. Cement anchors for the tables were also buried to prevent movement of the tables.

I constructed 4 sets of bookcases for the 3rd grade classroom. The old ones had splinters and exposed nails and the new ones will be safe and help the teacher organize the materials for class. Seventeen people worked a total of 110 hours on this project.

My project was the renovation of the educational "garden area" at Parker Whitney School. With the help of 13 Scouts and a few adults we pulled the weeds, cleaned and repaired the raised gardening boxes and greenhouse, turned the soil in the beds, repainted signs, repaired water faucets, removed a deteriorated box and replaced it with 4 benches for students.

Rocklin Community Center and baseball diamonds
Around the Community Center and baseball diamonds, bicycles before my project, were in the way or left on the ground where they could get damaged. With the help of 17 fellow Scouts, we dug holes, built forms, poured concrete, and installed eight
bicycle racks.
